The old saying, “justice delayed is justice denied” remains valid today and is symptomatic of the current state of the Nigerian justice system. Delayed justice has indeed, assumed worrisome proportions in Nigeria. Cases drag on for years and are sustained in that state by highly institutionalized practices and procedures of court which are taken advantage of by legal practitioners and litigants to delay the resolution of cases before the courts.
