It has been stated in so many fora that the Maritime sector in Nigeria has the potential of contributing immensely to economic growth and development in Nigeria. Yet it appears that it has remained under explored in terms of an in-depth consideration of the issues pertaining to the sector. The NIALS Maritime Law Journal is thus introduced to provide a veritable platform for fruitful discussions on Maritime and maritime related issues in Nigeria, as well as in other jurisdictions aimed at fulfilling the Institute’s duties of assisting to create a learned society.
